About your Home Tonight
Pre-admission Testing

In most cases, patients must have some tests performed prior to a Home Tonight procedure. Pre-admission testing is done no earlier than seven days before surgery.

If you are scheduled for pre-admission tests, the date and time of your appointment are shown on the label on the back cover of this brochure.

Your appointment

Please be on time for your pre-admission tests. Park in the garage, and follow signs to the hospital's Diagnostic Center. Check in at the desk in the lobby.

In addition to your pre-admission tests, you will see a short film explaining the services of Home Tonight Ambulatory Surgery. Children will see a film produced especially for them.

You will then be directed to the Home Tonight area where you will meet with an anesthesiologist and a Home Tonight nurse. Anesthesia options will be discussed with you, and the nurse will review your health status and preparation for surgery.

You will be asked to sign necessary forms for your procedure and for the type of hospital insurance you carry. By taking care of interviews and paper work in advance of your Home Tonight admission, your day of surgery will be smoother and more efficient. In most cases, your Home Tonight pre-admission tests and interviews should be completed in less than two hours.

During your pre-admission visit, the date for your

Home Tonight procedure and your admission time will be confirmed. Occasionally, changes in scheduling occur during the week prior to surgery. If this is necessary, we will call you.
